My name is Rebecca Stolberg and I am one of the Resource Teachers'. Since receiving my bachelor’s degree in Special Education in 2007 I have taught in a multitude of settings; these included acting as the primary teacher in self-contained special education classrooms and working more one on one with children in the resource setting. Over my career I have enjoyed working with children with learning disabilities, those with autism, and children with cognitive disabilities.
For the last 10 years I have enjoyed teaching at John C. Coonley Elementary School. I am the teacher responsible for your child’s Individualized Education Plan (I.E.P). I will also be providing special education services for your child in the Language Arts and/or Math areas. My job will be to tailor your child’s general education instruction to function at your child's established academic level. While there may be occasions where I have to directly instruct your child in the resource room, the goal is for your child to receive the majority of his/her instruction inside his/her classroom. This will allow your child to feel more a part of his/her class, and at the same time achieve great academic success.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me, either by sending me a message via this web site, or via email at rgross1@cps.edu.
I am really looking forward to working with you and your child this coming school year.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Stolberg
